- New Zealand’s Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, announced a ban on military-style semiautomatic weapons and assault rifles less than a week after the deadliest terror attack in the country’s history. The ban will involve a mandatory buyback, estimated to cost between NZD 100-200 million.
